either one should drive those polks fine, but you may want more
power than the 200w (bridged) from the 4.100 if you do get a sub,
and of course if you don't get a sub than you might as well have a
cheaper still 2.150.
in any event, actual difference in "street" price is probably more like $100:

Crutchfield isn't cheap, but they have good service and they're
authorized. Ebay is usually cheapest, but you don't really know
who you're dealing with. that's fine for some people, but others
prefer to either use a well-established on-line discounter, or find
an authorized dealer who's willing to give them a reasonable price.
There are even some on this forum who I'm sure would gladly pm
you if you wanted.

If you are not sure if you will ever even add a sub, I would go with the PDX-2.150 and save the dough now. Then eventually if you add a sub you can get a dedicated sub amp like a PDX-1.600 or even an MRP-M500, which wouldn't bust the bank at all.
I bought my PDX 4.100 off ebay for 269ish and its been great, except for some minor quibbles I'm not sure are my fault or not. Anyways, my amp birth sheet is 4x130 at 4/2 ohms so it is substantially more power than advertised - and looking online, looks like its the norm.
As for my issues, if I hook up my components a certain way, the amp will go into protection... kinda, it will cut out without throwing the light - but flip the channels, it runs like a champ, so thats what I did. The size is perfect, you can fit the amp in between the gas tank and the rear tray with no problem, I could probably push it back more, and get it behind the gas tank completely, but then it would be less secure.
If you have any more questions about the amp, let me know - as I just installed it recently.

Be aware, that some people have had issues with excessive noise and the amp not playing at low volumes with the 4.100's when running them bridged. Doesn't seem to be happening on any of the other PDX amps though...

I bought the PDX 4.150 and PDX 1000.1 when they came out back in 06. I way overpayed. Anyhow, three 1000.1's later, I gave up. Kept melting at the fuses but not blowing. Finally the 4.150's rear channels let go and I tossed the whole set up. Never even had them for a year. Running all Boston now and never looked back.....
I just got my PDX-4.150, MMC6500 and a 10" Boston G2 installed. The PDX is performing excellent so far (3&4 bridged to the sub), and the Polks definitely rock with it.
I went through the same decision process re: 4.100 or 4.150 - I decided to "buy once, buy right" rather than being unhappy with part of the system. Of course I knew I was gonna push a sub with it as well.
Birthsheet on mine was 4x165.
