Well I am sure many know the search for the front 6.5" and subs that will fit without much cutting can be difficult. Today while visiting one of my buddies shop(carries some higher end stuff) we came across a few addtional choices...

Planet Audio has the following products that I am looking at:

P65NEO:
6.5" two way with detachable tweeter
Power handling(RMW): 100 watts
Carbon Fiber woof cone
1" titanium dome tweeter with neodymium magnet
Butyl Rubber Surround
Efficiency(1watt/1meter)91 dB
1" Kapton Voice Coil
Super Neodymium magnet
get this: Mounting depth 1-3/4"

There's a P68NEO:
(difference)
1" soft dome silk tweeter
1-1/2" voice coil
150watt rms
component set
crossover slow: 18dB/Octave at 4500Hz
depth 2.25"

The sub I am looking at is the follow:
P8NEO:
150watt RMS
cast aluminum basket
carbon fiber cone
platinum plated 3 wat binding posts
efficiency(1watt/1meter): 90dB
2" aluminum voice coil
neodymium magnet
and a mounting depth of 2.25"(that's NOT a type-o).

I am going to run this with two Lunar 60X2. One for the speakers up front and one bridged fro the sub. The sub is shallow enough for me to mount behind passanger seat I think. Amps will probably go in the back.

The speaker will/should be out end of this month. Cost is not bad either... the 6.5" P65NEO is around $200 and the 8" sub is about $150. The amp is the killer(to me) at $350 each.

just because it has a shallow mounting depth still doesn't mean you don't have modify the speaker basket. you still might have to accomodate for the magnet.

yup, well aware of this.. but it's pretty prmising because it dosen't appear to be that large. will have to see once I get the speaker at hand.

Hey, atleast this is one less dimension we have to worry about.
