Advice on installing Door Speakers, please
I have a set of Alpine SPS-171A Type R 6.5 inch speakers that I would to install in my doors. I need some help/advise/assistance.
1) Where would you recommend installing the cross-over boxes?
2) Where would you recommend installing the tweeters?
3) The speakers I got come with speaker adapter rings for honda cars. Has anyone got any experience with these rings? I tried fitting everything up in the door this morning and I could not get screw holes to line up.
It looks as though I may have to cut the OEM baskets to fit the speakers. Thanks to what I have read here on the forum...I expected that.
My car is an MY00.
Thanks in advance for the help all.

1) i havent done ym install yet but in previous cars i have placed them in where i usually put the amp. Some people like to put them in the doors but then there exposed to water.
2)Its up to you, if you look at soe pictures of the 04' model year you can see where they are factory at the top of the door. i would hook everything up and sit in your car and turn off all the ez stuff on you head unit and move the tweeter around and find a place you like that you know youll be able to install there.
3) again i havent done my install yet but people said to use the existing bracket and modify it, which seems easy enough.
If you have to cut your baskets i suggest goign to crutchfield.com and getting replacement's so your speakers arent exposed to water when it rains.
