AEM EMS and Temperature gauge
OK just installed mine and it's not working...only getting one bar.. I tried up loading the file off your site...still no go. I checked the voltage levels, Getting around .7 on the white wire at 175degrees, 4.95v to the yellow wire, and .341 at the green. However the green bounces up to .800 everytime the led flashes...is this normal? Any ideas would be welcomed
ok this is wierd, I loaded the file for the OEM computer and it works?!?! I have the AEM EMS, but with EMS file loaded it won't go off one Bar. Strange. Anyway it works now. I would like to see a table of voltages and temps so I can program it to my likings.
I just installed one of these units on a AEM equipped car. The module is marked "AEM". The gauge segements light all the way to segment 7, with the car running. AEM logs show coolant temp in the 190deg range.
I've reprogrammed the unit using the AEM data file from Modifry's site and hyperterminal. The LED on the unit stays solid for longer than 4-5 seconds during programming, then 2 blinks.
I do have another ECT module programmed for a stock PCM, I'm tempted to swap them and reprogram.
Any thoughts?

Problem solved. The EMS in the car is using different Calibrations than the ones provided by Modifry. A new program has it working correctly.
I just installed mine and get 7 bars.
Any help would be great
The car I'm working on has had several issues that are keeping the module from working properly. When I posted previously, I has only ran the car untill 160 deg or so. The gauge working fine untill that temp. After running any longer, the ECT signal to the module is erratic. (rapidly changing from 400mv all the way to 35mv)
When the cooling fan cycles, the ECT signal drops 200mv. This is a huge drop on a .600mv (approx) operating range. The wideband is also inaccurate with the fan on.
It's looking like a ground loop issue, but there are still several variables.
Check your EMS ECT cal tables, to verify your cal's match Modifry's supplied ECT module programming.
Seperate the 2 ground wires from the module, don't ground them in the same location.

I see.
My wideband has a full point change after I boost(14.5 to 13.5 idle) which I am sure the fans come on when I come to a stop. I do have a relay so who knows, it may be my tune.
thanks for the help Slows2k.
