Default Aftermarket GPS systems

Can you guys who have GPS systems installed post pics and reviews of your GPS units?

Also, where can I buy them online for the best price?

Thanks

Alpine is great. Only downside is that its about 2500 with screen. I myself and going to be the guinea pig and check out the dell 600mhz PDA with GPS antenna and mapopolis. Supposed to be just as good, with MUCH faster load times.

I love alpine, and its always been the best for years, but like all kings, their death is inevitable. If you wait a while, Ill post a review and let you know how it is.

It's not "installed" but I use a Garmin Streetpilot III deluxe. They can be had fairly cheap these days. I set it on the dash and plug the power adapter/speaker in the cig lighter and I am good to go. Easy to switch between cars if necessiary.

It comes with a base that is basically a bean bag with a rubber foot. It tends to stay fairly well on the S, but it can slide off on truely hard accelleration. When the top is down and I am driving on my own, it works just fine sitting in the passenger seat.

I am going to be looking for a very light adhesive that will help to increase the friction the base currently has so it will hold better. No luck yet.

Pioneer is making great inroads into the NAV market. My cousin just installed one in his Boxster...I checked it out this weekend, it is a great system!
