Default Aftermarket pager to OEM alarm?

Does anyone have or heard of an aftermarket pager system that can be wired up to the OEM alarm? Most of the pager systems I saw on ebay have an alarm built in. I saw one that was just a pager but it looked really cheesey. I don't need any fancy LED screen or whatever, just some form of notification that my alarm is going off.

check out this site.

they have alarm/pager combinations, but you don't need to connect the alarm functions. As long as the alarm you have can send the appropriate signal to the paging unit.

Usually people connect this to the siren. So everytime you turn your alarm off or on, (the siren usually chirps). It will also send a page. Good to confirm that it is working each time you activate the alarm.

IMO, you might want to look at one of the 2-way systems.

this is all built into one integrated until, and will send you much more information about the status of your car. (pagers, will just send you a beep, while a 2-way could send more information. such as trunk open, or motion sensor alert. etc...

good luck

An S2Ki member WLAURENT sells an alarm solution that will wire up to your OEM alarm and allow you to use your OEM remotes. He also has a pager option...

I did consider that but since my OEM alarm will have just about everything that does I'm just going to stick with it. I am putting in a dual zone proximity, shock, and mercury hood tilt switch in this week. The only thing I'm missing is a pager.

OEM alarm integrated with a pager would be fine in most cases.

The only thing that I would strongly not agree with is your mercury tilt hood switch.

parking on a steep driveway or uneven surface can cause problems. What I would recommend is a weatherproof (rubber covered) plunger switch. This would cause the alarm to instantly go off when the hood is popped. (Where as with a mercury, you can pop the hood, but until you lift it, it won't trigger. This gives a would-be thief extra time to disable your alarm (cut battery cable, etc...))

about your pager. I found one by viper.

good luck with the alarm.
