Default Alarm issue? Possibly something else

For a while now I've been having problems with the alarm in my car.
I have a MY00 with the factory alarm.

I'll give a few examples of what has happened:

1.
  • Try to unlock/unarm car using remote, gets no response
  • Alarm goes off if I try to unlock with key
  • Finally unlocks/unarms car, radio reset

2.
  • Try to unlock/unarm car using remote, gets no response
  • Finally unlocks/unarms car, radio reset (sometimes radio is not reset)

This usually occurs after come back to the car and try to unlock it.
Occasionally, it would take me a few tries to lock the car after shutting off the engine.

Initially I believed the problem was the car battery.
The radio doesn't always reset in these situations so I think it may be something else.
I haven't gotten the car battery checked out yet; will do that soon.

I'm 100% sure that the problem is not the remote's battery.

Should I bring the car to a Honda dealer and have them check out the alarm?

Default

So I had the battery tested and it's "bad".
Currently getting it changed and hopefully that's the only problem.

OK so I just changes the battery. The power doesn't go off anymore but the alarm still requires multiple tries to disarm.

So I now believe it's an alarm/keyless entry problem. Should I bring the car to a Honda dealer to get checked out? Any ideas?
