Alarm LED Blink Rate
I have a question for all you electronic wizards out there. I recently had a clifford alarm installed in my S2k. Instead of having an LED on the dash, I opted for dual leds, one on each door. I love the way it looks, and how visible it is, however they both blink randomly. I'm sure there's a way to make then blink together, or dead opposite of each other (not sure which will look better, but I'm leaning on opposite). As it is now, one blinks faster than the other. I think this can be fixed with a capacitor or similar, and I assume its doing so due to a difference in the length of the led wires, thus affecting the resistance. While I know the words, I really have no clue what affects what. Any suggestions out there on how to make them either dead opposite, or right one together??
If they blink randomly, then they have an internal circuit that is doing the blinking, not the alarm itself. That being the case, there's not much you can do to affect the blink rate.
What you can do (although it will be more of a PITA than it's probably worth, is use one blinking LED and one standard LED wired in series. The blinking LED will force the standard one to blink at the same rate, but it means running wire from one door to the other.
