Default Alarm Problem

Hey everybody,

I bought my S used so it came with some weird stuff on it.

I have did something really stupid.
There was a led under the steering wheel(left side-blue led) with a disconnected cable, so me being stupid
I just connected the cable just to check what was it for...
Well, it is the alarm which I do not have the remote for.
It was late and I was not really thinking

I have the key and unlocking the car with the key seems to do nothing.
When I turn on the ignition and push the start engine, car does not start.
I do not know what kinda alarm it is, it is a blue led light under the left side of steering wheel.

I can open the bonnet, I can unlock the car with the key without alarm going off.
But there is this little button on the led thingy and if I press it more than 10 secs alarm will go off, same for disconnecting the cable from the led.

Here is one thing tho, when I unlock the car with the key, car started to make 3 short beeps.(did not do that when I bought it)
Everything works perfectly radio(aftermarket so someone before fiddled with the cables of this car before),dashboard, soft top but I can not start the god damn thing.

Does anybody know what kinda alarm that is?Is it OEM?(car is 2006 non CR model)
I just called the guy I bought the car from and he said he did not have the remote and he asked Honda dealer before for the remote but they asked him 90$.

Can anybody help me?
My last resort would be to tow the car to the Honda dealer and pay some $$$ for them to get it done, but I would like to do it cheaper if possible.

Hello there,

I'm sorry to hear that

uhmm i don't think thats the factory alarm. But then again i've never seen or used a factory one I think its aftermarket. If it where me i would trace the wires from the LED and find the control module for the after market alarm. They usually install them in one of the kick panels. If your having trouble finding the unit look for non-factory style wires that have been tapped up. Once you find it you can see where it connects to the factory wiring. Some alarms have fuses on them. If you unplug the fuse you should be able to start the start depending on the alarm. It sounds like there is some kind of starter kill or fuel kill. My integra was the same story. I bought it from a dealer without an remote. I found a lose wire under the dash and when i plugged it in BAM! Alarm went off. I popped the hood disconnected the battery then traced that wire to the box. From there i did what i said above.

if you can't get her running. Make sure you flat bed her when you move her. i don't know why but thats what the owners manual says lol

I hope this helps!

Jorden thank you for your reply.
I figured out that it is the KARR alarm system installed optional to the car.
It is such a useless alarm since I can get in the car, open the bonnet, trunk, soft top while it is armed.
Only thing it does good is the starter kill.

I found the KARR User Instructions, and tried to disarm it manually.
It is possible to disarm it if you have the key to the car and turn the ignition on.

However now even if I disarm it manually, starter is still not working like it is still armed.

I was able to start the car.
Sequence on the Karr owners manual is kinda tricky you have to count the seconds with a watch but it does disarm the car using the little button and original key.

Let me know if anybody needs the manual.

By the way, I realized that you can steal the car with almost no effort... I am getting a gps alarm soon.

No Problem! Just tired to help! Wow that does sound like a useless alarm lol i didn't know the S came with that option

Thats great to hear that you got it all figured out i'm happy for you!

Yeah! The S is really easy to steal i locked my keys in it once and it only took a few seconds to get in =/ Thats a good idea, make sure it has a backup battery too so if they cut the power to it, it will keep on working

I think it is an option for 06+ cars from dealer.
As far as I learnt, they actually have bonnet, top switches and motion sensor stuff.
But of course they cost extra.

I am thinking to get a smart phone with a cheap data plan and gps finder app, hide it somewhere in trunk.
If I can get a power outlet in the trunk and hide it for the phone, it will be perfect.

I can check the cars location from my own phone as long as the phone on the car is working.

That is my plan for DIY anti-theft

IMO you really can't stop a thief from stealing your car but you can get the car back if you want to.
