Default Alarm puts roof up? Can be?

Lots of car alarms provide such function as closing sunroofs and windows when you set it on.
Can it be modified to put the top up if it`s down? Of course it won`t fully close because of latches, but still - much more secure than leaving the roof down.
Maybe anyone have done it already?

Yes, any alarm with an AUX control can do it. However, it obviously wont be able to latch it.

If I saw a convertible with its soft top "cracked" open, I'd be more tempted to go up to it and see what's wrong with it. I would think, "Geez, nice car. Too bad the roof's busted". If I were a thief, this would be an "invitation" to come up and "check it out".
Your best "security" would be to spend the extra 10 to 15 seconds to just put it up and latch it before you leave the car. Same thing for when you come back to your car. It's only about 15 seconds out of your routine.
Of course you can make the roof do this with your alarm. But do you really want to?

that's true... but i installed it for my friend.

he said the main reason for this was for rainy day, so he can put the roof up quickly and goto the car and do the latches...

and it only requires 2 relays and 2 wires to the roof switch.

This question seems to come up quite a bit. As xviper said, a sure invitation for someone thinking you've forgotten. Hacing said that, I too have a rain sensor hidden and mounted and it's worked twice for me. Sudden downpour and I didn't have to run my arse off.. Windows up, top up.. It's all good
