my friend has a 2000 civic Si, and she's offered her factory alarm for me since she replaced it with an aftermarket one. Will this alarm work on the S2000? Or will i need to get the S2K specific one. TIA

 

From what I found out this weekend, the factory alarm isn't worth much. Go down and bye a good alarm, it is worth the coast to keep your car.

 

while thats all well and good, i'd really rather not deal with the idiots at cartoys/circuit shitty/breast buy etc etc

I'd rather have everything handled through honda.. Im not ruling out aftermarket alarms though

 

Why settle for the Honda alarm? If you're gonna get one, you should get an aftermarket one. I can see the only advantage of having a Honda alarm is that the dealer should take care of any problems that the alarm might cause, and they will fix it. However, an aftermarket alarm (a high end alarm that is) is better in any other comparison as long as the installation is done by a really good place/individual.
