See what it says about what buttons to press on your key fob or if the alarm came with a 2 button switch unit (don't know what it's called) that allows you to change your settings. I have the G5 and mine is installed under the steering column. It just might be the previous owner disabled the warning beeps and you need to reactivate it. Hopefully someone who owns the same alarm can tell you the factory settings if the previous owner didn't customize it. Your best bet would be to take it into a car alarm place and have the directly plug into your alarm and reset things for you.
I also have a G4 alarm but I don't know which model. Installed by the previous owner aswell.
Heres a picture of my remote
I don't know how to use it, but when I first got the car and I hit the big button the alarm would arm and make a sound. I played with it too much or something but some how now when I push it, it just locks the doors and doesn't arm the alarm.
Any idea how I can fix this?

Depending on which alarm it is, it might have an Omni sensor. It can be set to only chirp at hard bumps yet go off at a lighter bump. I mean, other than a smash and grab, if someone is trying to break in your car, they're not going to hit the car real hard. They'll be softer and try to barely pry it open. Read up on the Omni Sensor, it's actually an amazing lil sensor.
