personally... not a fan of clifford... ide go with either compustar... or Viper...

compustar if you want an alarm with remote start... and using a directed proximity sensor

Viper if you want just an alarm with proximity sensor

I'm happy with my Compustar... and like NFR suggested, it's wired with a DEI proximity sensor.

Clifford Matrix alarms are also made by DEI, same manufacturer as Viper. So there isn't really a difference.

I'm not sure if DEI took over the Avanguarde series though. Nevertheless, they are all quality alarms. It's the installation that will make the biggest difference ...

i planning to get a compustar too

i'm also looking to get those DEI Proximity and Digital Tilt sensor as well. i found them on ebay, it is from a brand called Directed. is that the only brand? is it any good? are those ebay stuff reliable? there is also a number associate with the DEI, like DEI 502 or 804 DEI or something (can't recall exactly). but what does those number mean?

any inputs please? i don't want to start a new thread, so i hope the OP doesn't mind i'm building on top of his/her thread

I went with the CompuStar 2W900FMR model and DEI proximity sensor. Couldn't be happier.
