Default No Alarm (Immobilizer Only), Factory OEM Alarm or Aftermarket Alarm

Just wanted to see how the community protects their s2k. I know some try to keep all the details of their car private for that extra security, but I'm not asking for individual details. Just wanted to see who's using what.

For me it's option 3, b/c there are too many leech points for option 1 and 2.

The immobiilzer can be bypassed if someone knows what they are doing;
The OEM alarm lacks many features and is no longer up to date relative to security devices on the market.

There are over 5 different name "brand" aftermarket alarms including Viper that are made by one manufacturer, DEI. Since it is most widely known I have always gone with a Viper. Most Viper units come with an integrated shock sensor and siren. I added a tilt sensor ($15ebay) to one of the extra channels. I have a 1 way Viper for my S and it is good enough for me. A 2 way would mean when you hit lock or unlock, the fob would then report back to you that the car received the command successfully. This feature is usually used for long distance scenarios.

I got the Viper Responder 350 for 80$ on amazon shipped to my door in two days. Installed it myself. Ill look for my DIY details thread and post it.
