Default Modifying OEM Alarm

I was wondering if the circuitry within the factory alarm allows for the inclusion of a proximity sensor? The circuitry doesn't scare me, but I would hate to start into this to find out the task is futile.

Yes actually any modification or information about the circuitry. I was thinking most alarms work on a simple NO NC relay scheme (or the opposite if it is digital). Therefor it should be rathr simple to add additional features to the OEM alarm.

I think so. Do some searches with different terms. Maybe include "hood switch" sensor, etc.

The OEM security system has ( or HAD on older models) a hood switch accessory (this is an optional piece that sets off the alarm if the hood is opened.

At least one person used the hood switch input to add SOMETHING. I just can't remember what...

It was either a shock sensor or a proximity sensor.

Anyway, doing some creative searches might find it. It seems like based on that, SOME modifications are possible...

Sorry I can't help more that that...

just install the oem alarm per the instructions and when you add the proximity sensor tie it into one of the negative trigger inputs of the alarm(the hood input mentioned above)
