Default For all you technical junkies, a question on airspace and how to reduce and insulate?

My box is .77ft of volume
My subs specs
Sealed reccomendations .375-1.75
What is the deal with this range. What do you get with the smallest allowable volume versus the larger side of it? Am I sitting right where I want to be if I want nice tight base? If not how do you properly reduce the volume without rebuilding the box? I was thinking of gluing insulating foam to the enclosure wall and making the airspace reduction calulations by measuring the volume (LxWxH) of the total amount of insulation installed.
I don't know if it matters, but I plan to run about 250RMS to this sub and it is rated at 100-400RMS. Come on, let's get technical. How does one calculate the perfect amount of airspace needed for a subwoofer?

If you want to calculate, you'll need the Thiele-Small parameters for the sub. Also remember, any speaker will only have one (maybe two) resonant frequencies, so anything not of that specific frequency will not be as efficient. Design the box for that resonant frequency (also pick the speaker with the resonant frequency you want).

The subwoofer that I am running is the RFP4210. I very well may go with the 12" Infinity Perfect VQ Which can run in enclosures as small as .44ft
How about insulation to remove unwanted airspace?
What is the Thiel SmallParameters for this sub. I have no idea how to find this out. I am technical illiterate

You'll have to do the research for the T-S parameters...

I suggest against insulation material to decrease box volume as it will have the opposite effect acoustically. You need to decrease the volume with a solid substance, such as a board.

where many things car audio are:

actually -- if you're at .7 cu ft now, you're going to be in an acceptable range.

do you have the sub? if so, the T-S parameters will probably be in the manual. if not, check RF's site. that's probably your best chance of finding them... then google the model number...
