Has anyone that pre-ordered the 9857 from Crutchfield had theirs ship? They originally had an estimated ship date of March 10, but now I see it says Ship Date Uncertain. I talked with them last Friday and they said some came in and shipped already...

I think Alpine had a delayed shipment. I had ordered an IR remote for my 9856 from Crutchfield. It was supposed to ship by 3/1, but then it was delayed till April so I cancelled the order.

 

I cancelled my 9857 order just this morning. I was told it is still not available and no idea when they'll have it.

 

what is it with this radio i see it in every forum
is it that great for our cars?
whats so great about it?
easy install?
if you get it would it be smart to get the speakers also?
is there a better radio out there for our cars?
other then this 9857 from Crutchfield ?

 

It has been delayed. With electronics (and I mean this seriously) gauge ebay. There are NONE on ebay, which means they wont be out for a while.

 

I'm also waiting - seriously look at the 9857 with focal 6.5's and a JL 300 amp (or whatever # the 4 channel amp is).

 

My unreliable source told me April 1st for the 9857. You just never know with Alpine and their rhymes and reasons for holding back distribution.

 

I also have a 9857 on BO from Crutchfield, so far I have only gotten the interface cable for the iPod and the wiring harness.
