I still dont get why you are trying so hard. The Alpine comes with a harness that goes from ALPINE------>General
Circuit City sell a harness (honda 1998+) that goes from OEM------>General....
($10)
Should be plug and play.
It's NOT that difficult, I just did this the other night in about 20 minutes. You have the Alpine harness and the Honda harness that you can pick up at any car stereo shop right? You need to wire these together right?
Every wire on each harness lines up color for color, except for the following:
Leave the pink wire disconnected you don't need this.
Orange Wires: You have two orange wires on the honda harness, one is dimmer and one is illumination. Hook up the illumination wire Orange off of the Alpine harness to each of these and see which one dims the unit when your headlights are on. Sorry I forget which one it is, just try them both and see, it'll take you a whole 30 seconds.

anyone care to explain this - for example what is plugged into the NW corner - as the adptor says its the power attenna and the bottom row fourth from left and what are the two - top and bottom 2nd from right.
That looks like the plug off the stock wiring harness. You shouldn't be messing with that. I assumed you had picked up a wiring harness from crutchfield or a car stereo store. Did you buy a wiring harness? They're like $15 at like best buy, circuit city, or Fry's. You do not wan to cut the stock harness. Buy a wiring harness from the store and wire it to the alpine harness as discussed above.
Somebody on here has the pinout for the stock wiring harness, I forget what webiste, but this is irrelevant, you don't need it.

Im not - I just wanted to know what some wires were that were not matched/uded by the adaptor - and determined its remote most likely (dash controls) too many wires - off to bnoat world to get new connectors so I can elimiinate bulk wires as it would not go in but it do boot up and seem to work first impression
