Default need help with my alpine HU install

So i wired everything, everything looks correct but some questions

There were two orange wires on the honda harness, one orange and one orange/white. There were a orange and pink/black on the alpine harness. I connected the orange from honda harness to the orange on the alpine harness. I then connected the orange/white to the pink/white. Was i suppose to do that?

I taped off both blue and blue/white wire from the alpine harness since the honda harness did not have any blue or blue/white wire.

I plugged it in the the alpine unit displayed "interrupt".

What does that mean and did i go wrong somewhere with the wiring.

Also when i removed the oem cd deck i removed the radio wire, blue plug and white plug, but there is no where to plug the white plug into the alpine deck. should it be plugged into something. Also i have a MY06.

Thanks

alpine pink/black is for a telephone mute, whereas the honda orange/white
is for illumination or dimming, so your alpine is probably getting a signal
on the wire that it interprets as the telephone interrupt. disconnect and
tape off the alpine pink/black and the honda orange/white.
your honda harness should have a blue wire, which is for the powered
antenna, and is necessary. the alpine blue/white is for a remote amp
turn-on, which if you don't have an external amp you should tape off.
as for the trunk-mounted cd player, I doubt it's compatible with the new
headunit, so just leave it unplugged.

All honda harnesses have the blue (power ant) wire, at least for conversion type harness adapters like you have.

The pink wire you connected is the interrupt, disconnect it. Make sure the rest is correct, take a good pic and post it here if you want (just the harness adapter with the "honda" plug on one side and the alpine plug on the other side).

The white plug you mentioned is for the OEM changer, not used with an aftermarket head unit.

As far as the "interrupt", have you checked the mute button yet (assuming you installed a DCI) ?

so i cut off the pink/black to the orange/white and the radio worked. The radio also works,

i didnt connect the blue (power ant) since the harness didnt have it, but i did check out another harness that did have the blue wire. what would be the downside or what is not working properly since i didnt connect the blue wire.

Your radio reception will be pretty bad once you get a little distance between you and the transmiter.

You sure the blue wire you mention isn't the remote turn on though?

I believe the antenna amplifier only affects AM reception.

Here's a diagram of the wire colors in a Honda stereo adapter, with the corresponding Honda factory harness colors. Note that the "dash switches" and "dash mute" won't be on a generic Honda adapter.
