I have one headed my way right now. I should have it in time for my big trip back to Pittsburgh next weekend, and will see how it works. I'll be sure to put together a write up about my experience.

I messed around with one in a shop and it works just like the nav in my TSX.

HEY JIM!

i've been meaning to call you back.

jeez, what is this thing that you speak of? *scurries off to find blackbird info*
so, does it link into the AI-Net? i'm not seeing any evidence that it does... and can it play over music or what all on an Alpine head?

No AI-Net, but you can load an SD memory card with all your music. Then use the FM-modulation and play your music and hear the directions through your headunit. Unless you want this:

Fly your Blackbird into the PMD-DOK1, docking station! Connect to the docking adapter so you can control the Blackbird right through your AV Head Unit. With PulseTouch

The unit is pretty small and is necessary for me and my inability to navigate down the block. Looking forward to the review and a reasonable mounting location

Edit: I read reviews on Crutchfield:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-a6osM3dDVrE/c...=500PMDB100#Tab

The last review is before the release date of the software update on the Alpine website. I wonder how many of those gripes they fixed. The unit freezing all the time must be real annoying. Someone also said that the unit doesn't differentiate one way streets. That would be REAL annoying especially in NYC.

I thinking of mounting in the sunvisor. If you can just snap a pic of it next to, or over the sunvisor, that would be great. I dont care about it intergrating into my stereo. I want it only for navi. I wont use it for music or anything like that.
