Default Alpine CDA-9833 question

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=13857

I was about to make the order and saw this on the webpage, and i know nothing about this type of installation...

"V-Drive hybrid MOSFET60 internal amp- High current draw requires direct fused connection to your battery"

Is this true ... do i have to make other connections so i can use this HU. Can someone with experience give some help.

You don't need it. My Alpine is the same way, and I didn't do this. Been fine for 2 years.

Yes, you REALLY need to do it. Don't pull the 14.4v from the Vdrive through your wiring. The factory wiring also isn't thick enough to handle the amps. Also make sure you GROUND it seperately - the factory wiring isn't up to handling the amps on the way out, either. If the other guys' Alpine is 2 years old I don't think it has the same current draw.

If you don't plan on using the internal amp, then you don't need to run a seperate wire. Just use the stock Honda power wire. In fact you can tell the deck to shut off the internal amp in the settings. If you do use the internal amp you probably should run a seperate power wire so that it gets all the power it needs to perform at it's rated specs. Alpine only requires this on the decks with the vdrive amp, so they probably wouldn't just make it up. Otherwise it would probably perform as well as the 22 gauge stock powerwire that is however long of a run, permits it to. There is also a fan on the back of this deck that shouldn't be blocked. This deck also allows you to turn off the main display so that there is less power draw and less interference with the sound quality. This is a feature in some home A/V recievers too. I ran a seperate 10 gauge fused wire to mine. Wasn't too much more trouble. Hope this helps.
