I just completed my install of this head unit along with the IR DCI and an IPOD cable. It was a piece of cake to install, and everything works perfectly. However you have to mount the DCI's IR transmitter a bit further out because of the location of the receiver on the faceplate.
The one major problem I had was pushing the radio all the way in. I am running 5 RCA lines, along with all the DCI wiring, and ipod cable... It was tough to cram it all in there. Eventually I just pushed a 'bit' harder than I probably should have and now it all fits in nicely (some stuff is probably smashed though!).

I'll post pics in a seperate thread when my audio setup is complete, will be at least a couple weeks though. (Still designing a sub box.)
I had the same problem, even though I was only using 2 pair of rcas. The radio wouldn't go in all the way... so I lengthened the harness adapter so most of it goes under the radio, worked much better.

And here it is, as you can see the paint and some of the heatshrink came off the IR sensor while pushing it through the hole. I plan on repainting it and using some heatshrink on the outside. I let a friend dremel the hole in the radio surround, its not toooo bad, but its the last time I'm going to let anybody touch something that goes on my car with a dremel!!! :-P

Does anyone know if it has the 3.5mm jack on the back of the unit?
Nope, but it does have an aux input though. You'll need to buy an RCA adapter for about 16 bucks. Then all you need is a cable that adapts RCA's to the mini jack and your good to go. If you have a changer, you'll need a more expensive adapter to split the two devices.

You would be best off buying Modifrys IR DCI. It is custom made for our car. But you will still spend around $100. It is very easy to install..

Next time you should try putting the IR in a different spot and get someone without the shakes to use that Dremel for ya

I have the DJ Qubes audio control. It changes the why the controls work. You end up with the large button becoming a little joystick. It rocks!

Where can I buy Dj Qubes system from and find more information about it? Also, if I am using the ipod interface through my head unit, will the honda controls work the ipod?
