Default Alpine CDE-103BT install in 2008 S2k

Hey guys! I just traded my '07 civic si for the '08 s2k. love it! i went to best buy yesterday and purchased an Alpine CDE-103BT headunit... i was there from 7pm to 1030pm last night... they couldn't get the sound to work... the power came on just fine... so they assumed there's a factory amp... i'm not yet too familiar with the car, but there isn't an factory amp right?! ANYway, so i'm going back today to have another guy try to figure it out... and of course i'm paying outta my behind to have them do this (i've done it before in an old civic and integra... but i don't wanna chance anything with this car) ... SO, any suggestions?? Any idea why there would be no sound? Thanks!!!

No 'factory amp' that I am aware of. I put my Alpine iDA-x303 in with no issues. Did they actually get the wiring right? Did they use a harness?

you should only be paying for a stereo install for the s2000 ($60?) plus cost of a harness ($20) and $5 materials fee. what city/state? They must be some dumb ass installers then... i work for best buy too... used to be an installer but moved up to higher paying spot...

also, welcome to the forums and congrats on your purchase... if your in the bay area, cali... i would do the install for you.

Alpines can be easily self-installed in minutes with the Modifry PnP harness.

Just wanted to post follow up - ended up using a 105, because the 103BT does not play well with the wired modifry.

The installer must either suck or not know what he is doing, I as well work for Best Buy as a installer of 5 years and know you should not be paying more then 80 bucks (50 dollar deck install, 22 dollar wiring harness, and 5 dollar material fee) There is nothing to the car as well, since it is just color matching the harness and iso mounting the radio
