Default Alpine CDE 114BTi

Hi, guys

Have just had on of these fitted, and it's very good. Much improved sound quality, access and control of my Ipod, and a handsfree phone.

I have a problem receiving calls. I can pair, sync phone book, see contacts, missed, and recent calls - all works fine, and I can call out with no probs.

BUT when I am called in the car the caller is patched straight through to my voice mail.

Anyone else had similar problems, any ideas on a fix??

I am using an HTC HD2 smart phone.

cheers tc

Where did you purchase this head-unit from?

I ask because Crutchfield has a bulletproof tech department who can usually fix issues like this. I'm not sure of the luck you'd have contacting Alpine, but it could be worth a shot.

Head unit was supplied and fitted by a local company http://www.accutek.co.uk/. They have a good local reputation and their work and price was ok

If I can't find any help thru here I'll prob go back to them direct - but wanted to be sure it was not just a simple setting thing

I can confirm that I have sorted this problem out.

For anyone else buying an Alpine H/U, I suggest you check the version of the firm ware installed. Alpine say there are three variants, 320, 360, 380.

I had 320, which was a very old build. I have upgraded the firm ware to 360 and now the device and the H/U are working properly.

An important hint if you try to upgrade your firm ware is DON'T TRY AND SKIP A VERSION, GO UP ONLY ONE VERSION AT A TIME!

I spent too many hours wrestling with failed attempts to upgrade, trying to move from 320 directly to 380. I can't find and could not get any advice or support to help with this piece of the upgrade.

hope this helps other.
