Default Alpine CDE-HD148BT issues. (White Noise)

Hey guys, I have a really weird issues with CDE-HD148BT. I am upgrading from CDA Headunit from 2005 to new CDE from 2013.

As I Plug and unplug them both, the CDA has no white noise and CDE has really bad white noise. Please help. I am using same harness with same Grounding Wire (ground that is Built in to OEM harness.) What gives? How can one have this issue and other one be dead silent?

How can one head-unit be fine and new have such bad white noise.

I'd suspect the head unit.

Could be a bad unit or could be that the wiring has changed and you may need a newer harness.

Alpine confirmed both units use same 16pin connector. Sigh

Double grounded the harness and eliminated the amp to isolate the issues. Still no luck.

Ordered new harness just in case....

sigh will keep trying. Seems to be Headunit related really

Alpine Rep has told me that unfortunately due to all the features that are now available in these headunits this could be expected. Earlier models were built for better sound with better sound processors where today's Head-units are built for features such as HD-Radio, BT, AUX, USB, iPOD.

Due to that their focus has shifted from FLAWLESS sound quality to GREAT sound that is crammed with as many features as possible.

I am sure ALL headunits are this way now.

WHY ALPINE WHYYYY
