cda-9886 if you're going to add an amp later on because of it's 4v pre-out and controls, cda-9884 if you're on a budget. Both great units and have easy ipod controls. Both also come with the ipod cable.

I'd seriously suggest one of the IDA's if you have or are thinking of getting an iPod. I really like my 9886 but I've never used the CD player.

i was looking at the iDA-X200 which looks very nice. but does this come with a cd player at all? i usually do use usb so it may not be a huge issue for me.

also would thsi be compatible with the modify infrared DCI controller?

thanks guys

Get the CD player it costs almost nothing. If you don't have it there will be a time you wish you did.I mostly use my Ipod but every now and then I switch to a CD ,it's nice just to change modes IMO.I have the older 9856 which has very limited EQ ( BBE and Bass engine) and plan on upgrading to the 9887 because of the eq and time alignment options.
