Default Alpine iPod bug?

I hear some of the Alpine units do not turn off the iPod when the ignition is off?
What units are afflicted with this bug?

I am looking at Pioneer and Alpine HU replacements, and I intend to install a Modifry DCI. This bug, if it exists, would steer me to a Pioneer, even though I prefer the sound of he Alpine.

So what's the real word here?

thanks,
Dave

Wont the iPOD shut off after not being used anyway? Just curious. I have an alpine iDA-X100 and my ipod shuts down after a little bit anyway.

I will tell you about mine, I hope that helps.

I have a 9883 HU and an ipod touch.

When the radio is turned off, it pauses the ipod. I am not sure if it does the same on other ipod models.

CDA-9886. It was a bit annoying at first but really, it's not that big a deal to pause the iPod before killing the ignition. If it's a make-or-break deal for you then look into getting the CDA-9885.

Thanks, but I have no desire to have the thing in the middle of my dashboard. I want it hidden away, wither in the secret compartment or the passenger-footwell netting.

And yes, improper turning off is a deal killer for me, so I bought a Pioneer DEH-P6000UB.

thanks for the info, folks!

I have an iDA-X100 and sometimes my ipod battery goes totally dead, like its either staying on or not charging when connected, not sure. I have had this HU for a couple of months and its happened twice.
