I am having my Alpine KCA-420i iPod interface and Alpine CDA-9830 installed tomorrow. Has anyone already installed one or had one installed? If so what is your setup, where did you have everything (420i & iPod & cables) mounted/installed ?

 

I have my CDA-9831 and 420i sitting in boxes in the trunk right now waiting for my DCI before I get it installed. My intention is to have the 420i put under the passenger seat and ideally bring the iPod connector up into the glovebox. That way I can put the iPod in a locked compartment and not have to worry about it every time I stop. Failing that, I may try for the change slot thingy behind the cup holder (although I want to swap for a 2004 console at some point).

I know, it's only a plastic locked compartment, but it's better than the iPod sitting on the console all the time.

 

I mounted the 420 unit under the passenger seat, cables running alongside the center console. The ipod itself clips on the passenger side net on the cente console, i'll take a pic tomorrow, very easy, pretty stealthy even though its out in the open.

 

Just got mine today. I was also thinking under the passenger seat. But maybe in the spare tire location where I will be mounting an amp.
