Default Alpine m450 or m500 for 10''Type r?

Hey guys so I purchased an alpine m450 for my 10'' alpine type r, but now I am reading that it may be a bit underpowered. I am going to do the trunk well sealed enclosure, do you think I should sell the m450 and buy a m500 instead? Honestly would I hear the difference? The m500 puts out 100rms more power than the m450. I heard sealed enclosures need more power to sound good. Thanks in advance.

what ohm load will you be running the setup on, as this will determine amp output. Yes, more power is typically desired with a sealed setup vs a ported box.

I'm going to using a 2ohm load, which means 400rms for the m450, and 500rms for the m500.

gotcha, u might not notice a huge difference between the m450/m500, but u might want to try and find an mrd-m605 if you like to stay alpine. It will priduce 600 RMS @ 2 ohms

Hmm well I already bought the m450. Do you think my subwoofer would be underpowered if I stayed with it? I don't listen to my music THAT loud.

Spec wise i guess it is considered underpowered, as Alpine states 500RMS for 2ohm load, but it is nothing to lose sleep over whatsoever. The main thing is to have a properly designed box for the sub, and have the amp tuned by someone with a good ear or previous knowledge. Alot of enjoyable music tones can be missed out with a poorly tuned amp/box.

I'm using the ebay box for the trunk well. People say it's pretty good so I hope it'll work fine. I'm also going to get it tuned by an audio shop nearby since I don't have experience doing that, and would hate to blow my sub due to bad tuning.
