I have a PDX 4.150 powering a set of Type-X components and an Alpine Type-S 10" sub in the Kinetic box. This amp wails, I have no problems at all listening to it with the top down going 80mph. My sound is very full, the sub compliments the components very well. Very clean sound with tight bass.

Here is a few pics on the night I had everything put in. Initially I had an ID Qv.3 sub, but unfortunately I cracked the cone from stuff I put in a bag in the trunk.

Thanks for info. It's a sweet amp and for me size is a consideration, because I need my trunk and spare, so the gas tank area is the best place.

I have an older hifonics amp which I love. Very compact 50x4 (dimensions 8.5 x 8 x 2) and am looking for an upgrade in power with almost the same profile to fit in the space between the well on top of the gas tank.

I have had very good experiences with name brand equipment. Most of the time equipment goes through old age than breaking down during the warranty period.

My only experience was recent. I purchased an Alpine Receiver from Crutchfield in their Scratch & Dent section. The unit worked fine for one day, then it has some internal short circuit where it wound up draining my battery. The crutchfield tech at first thought I did not know what I was doing and installed the leads wrong (I did not use their wiring harness, but the one that I got from gofastlabs, which had the mute circuit wiring.) After I explained the hookup, they sent me another, this time a brand new one for the same price as the scratch and dent one.

No problems. Unit works fine.

Pretty Nice Trunk thinking about getting a PDX was going to spend some Crazy a$$ money to get Critical Mass Audio Amp ULA-800 but now leaning more torwards the PDX did you have to run any caps? and are you using a 4V pre out or higher? and the type of speakers? how much did you get the PDX for it retails for $750 the critical mass audio knows it's $2400 reason leaning for the PDX because have an Amuse R1000 Header back and can't hear $hit so the critical mass would be a waste of money kinda was going to go for a Zapco comp amp too but no point it seems like and the JL Slash seires puts out less power 450/4 and the PDX is 600/4

Thank you, I appreciate your comments. I highly recommend this amp for the car. Due to its design, a cap is not necessary if you're going to run just the box and a set of components. My headlamps nor anything dims when amp pushes itself to the limit. I'm running an Alpine 9857, so I'm not fortunate to have 4v preouts. As for my components, they're a pair of Alpine Type-X speakers.

I was showing off my system to my cousin last night, after turning it up a "few" notches I realize I have adjust my x-over points because it sounds like my drivers are too more frequencies than it should.

i really want to mount it where it will NOT be visible. i was wondering if it would fit under the seat or behind the seat.

I just installed the 4.150 (I believe they all have the same footprint though) and tried getting under the seat... really didn't work too well there. I ended up installing in the tool well in the styrofoam area.

This is not my install... but this is where I installed it:

Still gives me complete use of the trunk. I'm still debating putting in a sub. If I do it will probably be a small one on the drivers side of the trunk. I'm pretty pleased with the way the Perfects sound. Nice kick.

My installer was able to fit a PDX4-150 under my driver's seat without compromising seat movement, etc. He's a REALLY good installer, though, so if you get someone who doesn't know what he's doing, YMMV...

But it will fit there fine (I was surprised, in a good way).
