Default Alpine VS Viper--or no prox at all.

I'm thinking of adding an alarm with Proximity sensor to my S. The leading contenders are the Viper ESP500 (with prox) and the Alpine 150R. Any opinions on either? What about Prox sensors in general--are they worth is or just a pain-in-the-arse?

i have the cliiford 8000 w/ the prox. I like it, you can turn it off and adjust the prox from the remote, works great

agreed - same deal on my concept 600.. any of the DEI based systems (viper, clifford) will let you do this.

Is the prox sensor for the interior or exterior?

I am looking to install a alarm that will monitor the interior of the car for movement like a motion sensor. That way I don't have to worry if I park it with the top down....

Any suggestions os systems that will do that well???

most of them are both - dual stage sensors will have an adjustable range for outside the car (as well as simultaneously watching the inside), which will then default to an inside only mode when the outside area is tripped - think turtle going into its shell. it then protects the inside until it detects no further threat, then defaults back to watching both zones again.
