How is the Soundstream Van Gogh 320.4. Someone offered to sell me one on here and from doing some quick research and all it seems like a really nice unit. Any other input on this? Said it would give 80 watts per component speaker and then 320 for a 10" subwoofer. Seems like that should be some good sound. I guess then I would need a head unit as well since the stock one blows I understand.
Damn always turns into a big expense to upgrade.

Spend the money now and get a good amp or you might have to get a new one later which will only cost you more. DO IT RIGHT DO IT ONCE!

I am not trying to get a bad amp. I just want to know what amp is good to get and not TOO expensive. not trying to buy some fake Chinese crap or anything.

You could help with speaker install and the amp? I have never dealt with any car audio so don't know where to start. Could probably figure it out, but don't want to risk messing anything up really. How about head unit install? Any experience?

As for a head unit. Can around $150 get you a quality one that will fit? I see a lot of people are going with the Alpine ones, but they seem to be around the $300 range. Seen some good name brand ones for like $80 but figure if I spend a little more I can get better quality but don't want to break the bank either since I gotta get an amp and speakers and a sub.

Before you get too far along, realize that you'll have to purchase some wiring for the install.

This stuff is comparable to some of the best on the market ( > Monster) and quite a bit less expensive:

As for a new HU,

I suggest the Eclipse CD3100. Ebay has new ones for $140 or so.

Eclipse is well known to have the best sound processing on the market. Only downside is the need for a control box add-on for IPod control.

How much do you charge to install the speakers and can you do tweeters with a non tweeter door panel? If so how much and also for installing and wiring up an amp and head unit?
