It will still fit - just adds another 1/4" and I already had the space planned for.

hmm since we're talking about this. is there a minimum amount of space required when you build a box?

using the E8A as an example if the mounting depth is 5inches, then can you get by with a box that is 6 inches deep? leaving about 1 inch behind the magnet?

Since I posted this thread, I still haven't installed my Component speakers yet nor have I got an amp. Damn i'm lazy. Must be the excessive driving.

will you need the speaker shipped to you to do this?

currently, i'm completely torn between the RF HX2 and this solution... i need to decide and act soon though, since ED is upping the price on the e8A's as soon as the first ones come in (sometime next week)...

it's just that ED cone looks so sweet... but i really have no idea how either sub sounds... no one in my area seems to have demo 8"s of any type available for listening...

The HX2 is a great speaker also, but I am not sure how they compare price-wise. The HX2's I can sell for $130 each.
well considering the price for the E8A and small amount of money saved from shipping both the woofer and box from you, my guess is about a $60-70 difference. the E8A is normally sold at $180. it's not cheap. that is a great price for the HX2 as well!
