I wanted to purchase the Alpine SPR-17S along with the Alpine MRP-F300 amp while keeping the stock HU in MY04. Will this work or do I need to purchase an aftermarket HU for better sound quality? I've never upgraded car audio so your insight is greatly appreciated. I just want to be able to get better sound and a little better bass with the top down and without the use of a sub.

 

of course it'll work and sound better but not quite as good as it would with a aftermarket headunit. it'll still be a pretty big difference though so duit!
