So I've got an amp, it is small enough to fit under the seat - only a 2x100 to drive the 6.5"'ers (aftermarket of course). With my interior being stripped apart, I'm wondering:

1) power - I will run it through the hole after i remove the battery - but then, where to? around the side? or through the center console?

2) given where I run the power cable, where to run the speakerwires so they do not cross or come near each other?

3) the little blue wire, I hook that up to the amp and then in the fusebox where the V1 is? ('on' only when car is 'on' in the spares? or?)

4) mounting the thing - I dont have a drill, but I'm sure I can aquire one, any harm leaving it loose or something alternative to do under the seat in the meantime? and any suggestions on how to drill and mount an amp under the seat? - rubber grommets?

5) I was given a box that plugs into the speaker outs on the stereo so I can run the RCA's out of the stock stereo - is this setup that is recommended for keeping the stock head unit? (was only 10 bucks) no instructions really but I have a helm manual and know the speaker wire colors coming out of the head unit. splice away?

Thanks!

and btw, I already ran different speaker cables from the speakers.

Randy,

I didn't install my amp, but I know enough to be dangerous:

1 & 2) run the power and signal cables on opposite sides of the car under the door sills
3) I'd guess the blue cable is the remote turn-on lead - should be wired to the head unit.
4) I'd reconsider running the amp under the seat - those things can get very hot. I actually had mine overheat yesterday, causing the thermal protection circuit to shut it off several times. Never done this before, but I'm now running @ 2 ohms/channel w/ double the power, which creates more heat. It's mounted in the trunk w/ plenty of ventilation. I used liquid cooling on the way home from New Braunfels, courtesy of Reddy Ice! Stop by sometime if you still need to drill some holes.
5) your adapter should work as long as your amp has high level inputs

6) you should also install rear speakers while you're doing this! IMO, the rear speakers probably make a bigger improvement than the extra power based on listening to Ramon's 4 speaker/stock power setup. If your amp will support a 2 ohm load, you can run both pairs off the amp and keep your mute function. You lose the fader, but I found the sound to be well balanced nonetheless.

Good luck!
