Default Amp Location

First off...let me preface..this is not for the S..it's for my Civic hatchback.

I'm about to pick up a good deal on a Soundstream VanGogh VGA320.4 amp. I was trying to find good places to put the amp, and one idea was under the seat.
Unfortunately, I'm getting conflicting reports about this location. Some people say it works, some people disagree because of ventilation issues.
What do you guys think? Do you guys have any experience doing this? This all, however, might be a mute point because the dimensions on the amp are quite large (11.2 x 2.6 x 14.6), so it might not fit under the seat anyway.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Apparently there is a piece of styrofoam under the passenger seat (sound deadening material?), and otherwise there is very little space available.

I ran into the same problem, but my installer put the amp under the carpet at the passenger kick-plate (very forward part of passenger floor). You'd never know it was there...

As long as the heat sink is mounted in its proper position (most likely up) and if the Amp has fans they are not blocked you should have any issues.

thanks...i just need to figure out whether or not i have enough space underneath the seat to work. otherwise, i'll have to work on some custom install on the soundstream so i can hide the amp when my rear seats in the hatch are down.
