Default Speaker amp placement

I'm planning on placing my amp under the passenger seat, is this a good idea, anybody try this and have any problem at all? Thanks.

Try sliding your arm under there...you may reconsider. I know some have placed an amp under the drivers seat but it's still cramped.

let say the amp fit tightly, would this compromise any air circulation?

Yes it would...amps usually require some air space to cool adequately. If the seat is resting on the amp it will heat up a bit more. Electronics suffer from excessive heat and the life of the internal components will be compromised. How much shorter will the life be..... ...who knows. I know for every 10 deg higher temp the components life will be cut in half.

Others have done it with success...I wouldn't...
