Amp repair....feasible?
Hi all,
I know it is not for the S, but I have a stock Bose amp part no. 996-645-333-gx for our MY2003 996.
We not not very particular in car stereo and stuff. If we can have it repaired within reasonable price, it will work for us.
I checked, a brand new amp from Pelicanparts.com is like $615, it requires a core exchange. What a hassle!
If I go to the dealer, it will charge me over $800 (parts and labor). I suppose I can get one from the dealer and install it myself.
It is pretty much plug and play.
Anyone have experience in getting an amp repaired? What is the cost in general.
The system kept on switching on and switching off all the time and it drained the car battery. The dealer determined it was the faulty amp.
Damn amp! It costed me a good battery.
I tried to go to ebay to look for used one. Not much luck.
Anyway, feel free to share you thoughts here.
