Anyone have or consider this as an Ipod alternate?

In my search for a music keg/ipod setup I came across this and started brainstorming. Mounting it on a gooseneck near the E-brake, connect it through a head unit via concealed Aux-In jacks. It's got a magnesium case, video in/out jacks, and a 20gig hard drive. Says it rips dvds to the hard drive as well as pictures and music of course. And it's priced under $300. Just seems so much more versatile than a simple iPod.

Anyone have experience with this? The only downfall would be that you'd have to manually turn it on and off when entering/exiting the car. It does come with a car power kit included though.

The ipod has HU manufacturers that will integrate the remote controls and display functions to their HU display. There are pleny of mp3 players and pda's that you can hook up via an AUX, you just don't get the ipod's integration with them.
