Default Radar detector installation gallery/write-up

Hey guys. I just bought an Escort 8500 x50 and planning to install this weekend. I have been searching the boards trying to get install ideas but have not came up with much. So... Hopefully you guys can post some pics here.

I was wondering if visor mounting is as effective as to the left of the mirror? I would like to keep it out of sight from any "officials" that might not care for it. Since our cars are pretty low, I would think he would have to stoop pretty far to see it. I just want to know if it will still work right in this location.

Also, for the hardwire kit, where did you guys mount the smart cord mute button and display?

Thanks for any and all help guys. Merry Christmas

Here's mine. It's a V1 in full watch-your-ass mode:

It's hardwared to the fusebox. The cable you see goes under the trim along the top of the windshield, down the A-pillar to the fusebox. An Escort/Passport should work about the same.

The SRX works to'detect' radar but it does jam or delay the laser siganls going back to the gun. The Radar signals ARE regulated by the FCC therefore you can't emit signals to block RADAR. The lasers are regulated by the Food & Drug admin and there is nothing saying you can't emit signals whether to block or not. There MAY be local or state regulations to prohibit this. as in these states.

"The use of laser jammers is prohibited and/or restricted in California, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Utah."

Luckily.. I don't live there
