It seems I have pressed the mat a bit too hard on the metal lines that control the mechanisms of opening the door and locking. I dont know the technical term for these bars/lines/wires....dont knwo how to define them....but they are the metal things that run horizontal accross the door panel.
Solution to opening the door: I just opened the door by the inside handle about 50 times in a row, now the door opens with no problem. I guess it loosened the mat from this particular bar. However, the alarm is not as easy to do. Unlock...one door may unlock, other doesnt. lock, none lock, or sometiems one locks. After pressing lock about 8 times in a row, both doors may lock. I cannot even lock the doors with the key itself, only with the alarm. From he inside, I can no longer manualy lock the door. Its like its jammed.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

 

Take the time and open the door back up and do a better job. If you take the interior door handle off; then you can put the dynamat on the sheet metal underneath the the moving rods (where it will do more good). In order to get the rods back on you will need to cut a small hole in the dynamat.

 

To maintain the ability of those rods to move freely, I used some spiral nylon wire wraps. You can get them at Radio Shack. They look a little like a coiled telephone cord. Just spiral it onto the rods. Then attach your Dynamat to the spirals. The rods will move freely inside on the slick nylon.

Problem solved!

 

Yes, those metal lines are very sensitive to pressure, however, and Ive fixed this problem for a number of members.....

I will bet you a beer that your main problem lies with the unlock/lock thingie (forgot their names)...the piece you push/pull to unlock the door from the INSIDE of the car...if that doesnt have 100% of its space, it wont work. Take off the plastic frame around it, and see if you are having a hard time locking/unlocking it. This is good to test with the remote, as you can see if it can do it on its own strength. If not, there is something in the way, so clear everything out of the way. Let us know how it goes.

 

my issue after install is that on the passenger door, there is a vibration noise after shutting the door. it appears to be these two rods making the noise... is that possible? suggestions? some sort of foam wrap that won't bind?

 

I didnt feel like taking the entire arm assembly off. I just cut a "flap" out of the material where the arm runs, and "tucked" it underneath the rod as I was applying it. I "closed the flap" over the long void area (slit runs across this area) with a few little pieces that got trimmed off of the speaker area. No problems thus far. I am going to be taking it all apart this weekend to install my new speakers, so I will be able to see how its holding up.

Yeah, this stuff is SUPER sticky! One of my shoes still has a silver sole!
