Anyone own an Alpine IDA head Unit?

Dose anyone know how to save radio channels?
Then you hit PRESET and use the dial to select the preset.

Nice...how did you route it to the secret compartment?
I hope to do the same, or similar, with the iDA x303.

Routing it through the center console is pretty easy when it's removed. There's an opening under the radio mounting point, then around to the right of the shifter (there's some foam you can pull away to get a clear shot at the space, then through a whole and I just followed the same path as the other wiring. I also covered my USB cable with a piece of high temp tubing.
Once you're at the secret compartment (SC) it gets tricky - apparently there's like a huge effort to remove it. So I just removed the three lower screws, cut the hole up in the compartment, then used a clothes hanger from the top down and how of the opening at the bottom and pulled the cable up/through.
You could do the same thing even easier if you just wanted to go to the locked compartment (LC). I can draw up something, but it makes sense once you have off the center console (CC).
read up on ida-x200 as an interim radio for my DD until the spring when i'll pull the s2k out and install a differnet hu...
heard there are some skipping/dead air issues...
has anyone experienced issues like that?

Yeah, dial in the radio station you want, press PRESET and then use the knob to select a "slot", then press the knob for like 2-3 seconds.

Still a little lost on the DCI though - Do I need to get the Modifry DCI mod and the Modifry Alpine Harness Adapter to use the DCI, or just the adapter?
Thanks for the information.
Yes, there are two different Modifry products:
P&P Harness, for ~$25. This allows you to connect the Alpine to the power/speakers/dimmer/etc. This is all I have right now (since I might be using the DCI area for something else
). All you need to get a new HU in the car and up and running.
DCI Interface, for an _additional_ $89 on top of the $25. This uses some connections from the P&P harness and connects to the DCI harness from the car. Let's you control the volume/track/file/mute/mode from the DCI. This has a little module with some circuitry so it's a little more complex that just some wires and plastic connectors.
There's a "wireless" DCI interface that uses the IR port, but I'd stick with the wired.
You can add the DCI interface after the fact. Of course, you have to pull your HU again to access the harness and wiring (though it's pretty trivial).

Quick question...I am wiring the Alpine harness to a Honda Wire Harness to make a quick connect to the OEM harness.
I have some questions on the wiring:
First, the blue wire stating power antenna, what does that connect to on the wire harness? I see a blue wire on the wire harness that is also labeled power antenna, but I'm not sure how to connect the two since the Alpine end is not a wire end but a clip.
Also, which orange wire on the Alpine unit do I connect to the orange wire on the Honda wire harness? The Alpine has two of them, an illumination and dimmer wires while the Honda one only has an illumination one. I presume its illumination to illumination, but then what is the dimmer for?
Trying to take care of the wiring tonight and do the install tomorrow.
Thanks!

scroll down towards the middle of this page for a pretty detailed look at how to run the ipod wire to the secret compartment:

!I figured out my power antenna wire questions. I still have a question on the illumination wire, but I think I have that figured out. I will not be using the dimmer wire unless someone can tell me otherwise!
Thanks all!
Got the iDA x303 installed this morning. Looks great. Great fit all around and works very well. It makes the stock speakers sound pretty good. I'll wait on upgrading them till later on (want to get a new paint job first).
I wish I could change mine to have red illumination instead of the blue, but other than that, absolutely love it!

I ended up running the iPod wire a little differently than most...I snaked it into the side panel that goes along the passenger seat and was actually able to put it into the glove box without cutting any holes. It fits perfectly in the gap between the glove box and its lid/top. The only wire you see is the piece that sticks out from the lid/top, but its almost non-noticeable.
I pryed open the door panel while I was installing and looked at the speakers. Seem to be stock, although they put out good sound.
Also, does anyone else have a 12 volt power supply hidden behind their HU on the passenger side? Not sure if this is a stock thing or not, but the previous owner of this S2k has one. It's actually in a great place if I want to use a nav system or portable satellite radio. Might look into that.
