Hi,

Could I swap my '01 stereo headunit with a AP2 version and use the same harness?
I get disc read errors sometimes with CDs but I don't want an aftermarket unit because I love my exterior controls.

yes, headunits from all years are plug&play compatible. The trunk-mounted
CD changers are not, however.

 

You know you can have just about any headunit you want and still keep the controls right?

 

^Yeah, I know. But I like the OEM look. Besides, I don't like for my interior to be lit up like a disco club.

 

I appreciate that......on a side note, I remember Nakamichi sp? selling a HU that was very close to OEM look yet much better quality. Wonder if those are still around.

OK Model CD-500. Seem to remember that Darknight comment about these several years ago. ouch $$.

Looks like there are several models for that high end sound but close to OEM look.
