Apple iTunes Problem
So, I got a 9835 put in the other day, and I went to play a burnt audio CD that I made in iTunes, and obviously the CD text from the files wasn't burnt to the CD.
Anyways, is there any way to burn the CD text in iTunes? I want to be able to use the Quick Search feature of my headunit, but cannot at this point because of this.
I would just use Roxio to make the CDs, but all my music is in AAC format, so I'm kinda screwed from that point.

Sorry, looks like iTunes doesn't support CD-TEXT.

Toast burns CD-Text on Cd's
I could convert back to MP3 (easy to do in new iTunes), but I also have a lot of Music Store purchased music, and it won't let me convert, unless I burn it all to CD then reimport in MP3, but by the time I do that the iPod adapter will probably be on sale from Alpine. lol
[QUOTE=Chadwick,Aug 10 2004, 06:05 PM] So does Roxio, but none of them recogonize the AAC format that ALL of my music is in, unless Toast does.

Unfortunately you have hit the biggest snafu with Apples protected music format
I am a big Apple fan, but I haven't been downloading too much music from iTunes for this reason. AAC's do nothing for me, I dont have an iPod, I have a boom-box that plays Mp3 cd's as well as a head-unit and am mp3 changer in my car.
You are correct...the only way to convert (well and have it not degrade too noticeably is to burn them as AAC's in iTunes then import it the CD to Toast and REBURN as Mp3's or CD's with text
I have done it..it is time consuming and frustrating

The thing is, Apple does burn the song information to it's audio discs. If you insert the disc into another computer with iTunes, it'll see and recognize the tracks (not by accessing the internet like the CDDB does w/ CDs), but because the CD-TEXT was originally a Sony format that was adopted by the industry, Apple seems to not want to support it. Maybe they're pissed because IEEE 1394 was Apple's baby until Sony designed the 4 pin alternative.
The iTunes music store is so incredibly simple to use to. They don't carry ALL the bands I like to listen to, they do carry quite a bit, and I believe in having legal music, so I do like the concept behind AAC.
However, after the fact I keep finding more reasons on why I should have stayed MP3. Damn me and wanting to get all the latest stuff quickly.
Thanks Mikey for trying to help though.

I do like the iTunes store
the layout is great, very easy..seamless downloads, I just wish the files were Mp3's
I do believe in legal downloading....so far I bought maybe 4-5 albums there, but mainly I am concentrating on ripping my own collection of 750+ CD's
