Default Audio question - need help

I bought an aftermarket head unit without a subwoofer output, and I am using the regular line out speaker outputs for all four channels. If I wanted to use the rear RCA amp outputs to hook up a subwoofer amp with a crossover, would this mute the rear speakers already installed? Are there any other easy ways to do this without buying new equipment?

The rear speakers will continue to work just fine. You can do whatever you want with the RCA output with no effect on the other speaker outputs.

yeah should work fine, but make sure you set the filter on your amp. on heads with separate subwoofer out--the head will restrict the frequency coming over that wire. if you use the rears you'll get a full signal, so make sure you set the crossover point correctly or set the filter on the amp (which would act as your xover as well).
