Info on Honda MP3 player needed
Does anyone have the Honda MP3/WMA player installed? I'm interested in how it works:
1) Does the Stereo display show track info from the MP3/WMA files like Album and Song Name?
2) Are there any limitations on file naming when burning CDs? (Many I've seen require 8.3 filenames only with a very rigid directory structure - one deviation and the disk becomes unreadable.
3) Do you have to completely remove the swinging cover in the dash to install it? In other words, is it always visible, or does it install behind the pocket door?
4) Any other info regarding its performance/likes/dislikes....
Thanks!

i found one (hope that link works). i've not seen the back, but if honda did it like they've done in the past it looks like the MP3 player hooks into the back of the stock head just like a cd changer or remote tape player. the mp3 player itself is just a single disc cd player that reads MP3s. It doesn't look like an actual receiver--there are no audio controls on it at all, just an eject button, so I don't think it would work independantly of the headunit from a 2003 accord.
i have serious doubts it would work on a headunit other then in the 2003 accord. also looking at the display for the non-nav accord there's no area for ID3Tag for titles etc.

I should have clarified - I just bought a 2003 Accord EXL for my wife (see https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...&threadid=98090) , and was looking at expansion options. The Honda unit is pretty pricey, even from HandA Accessories, but if it works really well with the stock stereo, I may go for it anyway.

ok that makes more sense
the thing holding you back for an aftermarket solution is whether or not there is an adaptor for the stock headunit. you might try contacting blitzsafe and see if they have anything that will give you line out.
i'd be interested if you could get id3 tags from the stock system. but even without being able to get tags just going up and down songs using the stock stereo controls is a big bonus.

have you considered an aftermarket MP3 player? i just installed the sony mp30 (~180 on ebay) and it works perfect. no external control / player, lucid's adaptor makes the dash controls even better, and the ID tags scroll just like u would want. If you can spend mucho more cash, you can even get the kind w/ 5 gb hd too. plus, there's more power to boot.

My GF has been looking at the '03 Accord, too. Is the Navigation system available? What are your reviews on the stock system?
