Default audio system upgrades please help

hey without totally breaking the bank what are some good ideas and or experience with upgrading the audio system. i am about to get an 08 and while i hear the sound system is better than the older AP1 models i was listening to a few cds in the showroom and it was ok at best.

i am a music producer myself and these things tend to irk me. either way i'm getting this car because i have my studio and other places to hear music in high fidelity but i just got out of an infiniti m45 lease with the bose surround sound with the dvd audio and the 5.1 all that jazz and while i'm not going to compare it to that i would at least like something decent.

ps - i don't want to get like the whole subs in the trunk set up i care more about the fidelity of the audio than just the bass. i produce rock/heavy metal music so i'm not into hip hop or house or anything like that where it is very bass heavy and i know most aftermarket systems are all about the power etc.

i was just wondering even if i have to stretch money wise is there a way where a very good system can be installed somehow as a custom mod and if so where can i look or get recommendations from good past experiences.

thanks

You would probably get more feedback if you posted this in the electronics section. Tons of info in there.

I just installed an Alpine 9886 HU, Alpine PDX Amp and Boston Acoustics components and the difference is night and day.

Good Luck

Can you install a new Deck into an S2000 (Clarion, Kenwood, Alpine)? It says in the owners manual that if you use a different deck than the one Honda supplied, the Audio controls beside the steering wheel will not function. Is this true?

You need to order a Modifry DCI ( dash control interface) for which ever HU you purchase. With this your dash controls will work. You can find it at Modifry.com
