Question for those that have the Gentek.

I have one, and I can NOT get the auto-dim function to shut off. Can you?

 

where did you guys put the temp gauge sensor? any pics?

 

Where can you buy the 9" mirror at? I can't seem to find it even though Gentex has it listed on their website.

 

Check out some of the advertisements in the back of Car & Driver, Road & Track, etc. One of the vendors there sells them.

As for the chap who can't turn off the auto-dim function--some mirrors have a defeat button, some don't. If worse comes to worse, you could always stick a piece of electrical tape over the sensors...

could yall show some install pics, i had trouble installing mine so i added a standard mirror back piece but i dont like it...

I stuck my sensor in front of the grill under the bumper. It works well unless I am sitting for a long while and then it gets heat soak.

I may move it one day to a spot under the fender somewhere, but it seems to work pretty well where it is at the moment. It was as dar as I could get the sensor to reach with the stock harness.

I managed to pick up a NIB Mazda/Gentek Autodim Temperature/Compass model with all wiring for about 90 smackeroos shipped...
