Default Auto on/off headlights?

This thread is made under the assumption that the ap2's did not come with this feature....

Is there any possibility that I could buy an auto on/off assembly or electrical components necessary (from an existing Honda vehicle with the feature) and install it in an S?

I really need this feature and it is very convinient for me. Suggestions?

The '06 Pilot has auto turn off for the lights. They remain on for a minute or two after you turn the car off. I don't think this is what you want though.....if the light switch is in the On position during the day the lights are lit. There is no 'daylight' sensor. I don't think any Honda has a daylight sensing headlight system.

its been discussed. the wiring diagram for the canadian s2k (which has DRL) in the manual is 3 pages longer. there's a lot more to the circuits to have DRL it seems.

But the '06 has DRL. How does that work? I "think" it runs the high beams at partial power, but doesn't that mean there is some kind of alternate system to it? Would it be possible to adapt it? I honestly don't know.

I personally always run with the headlights on. We get overlooked enough as it is, so I give people less of an excuse by rockin' the HIDs all the time. Flipping on the lights is just part of the startup routine for me.

Yeah, that's good idea. Motorcycles have run with headlights on all the time for years because it's such a good idea. In some states it's illegal to run during the day with headlights on. Just be warned.

Whats such a good idea about decreasing the life of the not-so-cheap HID bulbs?

I'm not sure how long you think they last, but I currently have 131k+ miles on my bulbs (and the rest of the car) and they fire up every time.

If it makes someone see me just once (which it has many times over), it is worth it. Besides, they still work.
