Yeah, that's good idea. Motorcycles have run with headlights on all the time for years because it's such a good idea. In some states it's illegal to run during the day with headlights on. Just be warned.
If that is true then why wouldn't it apply to motorcycles. I'd need to see a vehicle code to buy into that one.

I was taught that it is illegal to use just the running lights during the day, not headlights.

This has been discussed before. DRLs are NOT auto headlights. Auto headlights are exactly that, they know when to turn on and when to turn off.

You will need to get a light sensor from a wrecked car (lexus or acura, etc) and wire it up. If you are asking this question, you most probably not be able to do this.

I dont want to do this; I have a freind who knows about electronics. I am just asking if there is capability before I pay the guy $15/hour for work and have him get paid while I get nothing working.

So if I go get the sensor and the necessary components (I know the celica GT-S had this feature), it could theoretically work as long as my friend posesses the knowledge of the wiring?

I doubt the Celica has a light sensor.

You might want to check out this site http://www.dsp-mobilityelectronics.c...ries/head.html. I don't have any personal experiences with its application but it sounds like the answer to what you're looking for.

OK, not arguing, just that cars on the cheaper spectrum usually dont have them. If they do, you are in luck.
